“I had used SW Alloys twice previously without any issues and was happy with their work. Unfortunately, on my third visit the finish did not match the sample shown prior to agreeing to the work, and the way this was then handled has completely lost me as a customer and destroyed all confidence I had in them. Just for context - I collected the car after dark, which meant I was unable to fully inspect the finish at the time. It was only the following day in daylight that the inconsistencies became apparent. I raised this diplomatically in writing the next day, giving every opportunity for an amicable resolution. When I attended in person for an inspection, my concerns were dismissed entirely, no remedial work or alternative solution was offered. The conversation ended with them walking back into the building without so much as a closing word, leaving me standing in the car park - very unprofessional in my opinion. I just want to be clear here - during the initial consultation, they inspected my wheels in person and discussed the available finish options with me. At no stage during this process was I advised that, due to the design of my wheels, this finish would result in noticeably darker patchy areas behind the spokes. Had this been explained beforehand, I would not have chosen that option. The first time I was told this appearance was "intentional" or an expected characteristic was after I raised my complaint. An independent specialist in the same field who reviewed the work described it as poor workmanship and an unacceptable finish that would never have left their workshop. I ultimately had to pursue the matter through my credit card provider to recover my money, which I have now received in full. My advice to anyone reading this - this company is capable of producing good work, but if something goes wrong don't expect any help whatsoever. Always protect yourself and pay by credit card just in case.”
