“Great night for karaoke. Was new to town and found this place. Had fun and staff all friendly too. Not crazy busy so dont have to wait ages for a karaoke song.”

“We were really disappointed with our stay at the Castle Hotel, particularly given that we paid £269. We booked a room with breakfast included, but this wasn’t a traditional hotel breakfast at all. Breakfast was provided in the room on a small kitchenette, so don’t go expecting a full English breakfast, for the price we paid, it wasn’t what we expected. The room itself felt more like a very basic Airbnb than a hotel room. The mattress was extremely uncomfortable and had clearly seen better days — although, to be fair, the pillows were good! 😂 There were also several things in the bathroom that needed attention. The radiator was extremely rusty, the flooring was looking tired, and we weren’t provided with enough towels. Our room wasn’t serviced during our stay either, so we didn’t receive fresh items. We also ran out of toilet roll and, because of the time, had to go to the shop to buy our own. On the positive side, the room was generally clean, and the gentleman who showed us to our room was extremely friendly and helpful, which we really appreciated. Unfortunately, though, the overall experience didn’t feel like what we expected from a hotel at £269. It felt much more like a basic Airbnb-style accommodation, without the level of housekeeping and service we would normally associate with a hotel. We weren’t expecting luxury, but for £269 we did expect a comfortable room, adequate towels and toiletries, some level of housekeeping, and a breakfast offering that felt more substantial. Sadly, we left feeling that the stay didn’t represent good value for money.”
