“Visited on Wednesday with eight friends as I wanted to show them the best of Norwich. Unfortunately, it was a really disappointing experience from start to finish. The place was busy, but nobody greeted us or explained how things worked. We were left to find our own table upstairs, only to discover the upstairs bar was closed. Despite having a large group, we were told there was no table service, so we had to keep going downstairs to order and carry drinks back up several flights of stairs. That would be frustrating anywhere, but this is not a cheap place to eat. The fries were around £9–£11 and the burger was about £16 on its own, without fries. At those prices, I expect table service, some care in how food is delivered and staff who seem interested in their customers. Food ordering was chaotic. Because everyone had to queue individually, meals arrived at completely different times. A colleague ordered around 30 seconds before me, yet my food arrived 20 minutes after theirs. I was told food would take 20 minutes, but waited over an hour. The Wing Wednesday offer was good value, and the sauces were tasty, but the wings themselves were small, dry and overcooked. My burger was sloppy, under-seasoned and lacked any crispness. The loaded chips were also disappointing: unseasoned chips with only a small amount of dry chicken on top. Most frustratingly, no one checked on us at any point. Whether you were short-staffed or this is simply the service model, it did not feel good enough. I expected much better from this place. There are too many genuinely good places to eat in Norwich for me to bring friends back here, and I will not be returning myself.”
