“A dreadful first and last experience This was our first time visiting Pizza Express, and unfortunately, the experience got off to a poor start and only went downhill from there. Our first impression was immediately soured by our waitress. We ordered tap water, only for the waitress to bring us bottled water. When we explained that we had asked for tap water, she rather rudely replied, “You did ask for bottled water.” My girlfriend politely corrected her and said that we hadn’t. It was an unnecessarily rude and dismissive way to respond to a simple mistake. We then waited an incredibly long time for our food. What made it even more frustrating was watching other people arrive after us, get seated, order their food and then receive their mains before ours even arrived. It was bizarre. We really thought our order had been lost. Throughout the wait, our waitress didn’t check on us once or ask if everything was okay. It was strange because the restaurant wasn’t even that busy. She was still waiting on other tables but did not seem interested in ours. When the food eventually arrived, we were disappointed with the blue cheese dip we had ordered, as they didn’t taste right. We were also overcharged for them. By this point, we honestly couldn’t be bothered and just wanted to finish and leave. Due to our waitress not coming near us again we had to flag down another member of staff just to ask if they’ve forgot about our child’s dessert. My girlfriend and I ordered a desert to share but we were yet again disappointed, the portion was tiny — genuinely only a mouthful each — which made the £7 price seem extremely steep. Overall, this was a really disappointing first experience. The poor service, extremely long wait, lack of attention from our waitress, incorrect charge and overpriced tiny dessert all added up to what was a dreadful first visit. The whole experience was effectively set from the beginning by the unnecessarily rude response from our waitress. Unfortunately, based on this visit, we wouldn’t consider returning.”

“My wife and I made a visit to Norwich and went into the restaurant and were greeted by a great young lady who showed us to our table after removing a chair for my wife’s wheelchair the given by the manager Donneta and staff was 1st class and are a great credit to Pizza Express we will certainly visit again”
