“Avoid at all costs. I have never experienced such aggressive and intimidating behaviour in a nail salon. The nail technician who originally started my nails was doing a good job, but the owner interrupted and took over. He aggressively pulled my arm towards him, twisted and pinched my finger hard enough for me to say “ouch”. Instead of apologising, he pulled my arm towards him again. The quality of the nails he completed was awful. When I calmly asked if he could please fix them, he became extremely confrontational, screamed in my face that he was the owner and continued shouting at me. I was left physically shaking and in tears. I told him that I no longer felt comfortable and wanted to leave, but he continued yelling. I tried to pay for the service and leave, and he continued shouting that my nails were unfinished and questioned why I wanted to leave. I ultimately left because I felt so uncomfortable with his behaviour and was completely taken back his rage.”

“Unacceptable. I booked an appointment here a month in advance for my lovely granddaughter’s birthday. She is a teenager and had never had her nails done before, so I wanted to treat her and make the day special for her. When we arrived, the salon was very busy. I remember actually turning to my granddaughter and saying, “Isn’t it lucky we booked?” We told a lady that we had an appointment and she nodded, so we sat down and waited. After around 10 minutes, I asked how much longer it would be, as we also had a restaurant booked for the birthday girl. I was told it wouldn’t be too much longer, which I already found a little strange considering we had an appointment and had arrived on time. Another 10 minutes or so passed and nobody came over, so I got up again and explained that we had booked. This time, the lady checked her phone and told me there was no booking. While we were sitting there, another customer came in without an appointment and asked how long the wait was. There were already four other people waiting, and she was told it would be around 40 minutes. At this point I became concerned that, despite booking a month beforehand, we were simply being put into the queue as walk-ins. I explained again that I definitely had made an appointment and that it was for my granddaughter’s birthday. To my shock, the lady replied, “It doesn’t matter if it’s your granddaughter’s birthday. There is no booking.” I found that response unnecessarily rude. My granddaughter was sitting there looking increasingly uncomfortable and tears in her eyes bless her... She suffers with anxiety, which was one of the reasons I had tried to organise everything properly in advance and make the day as smooth and enjoyable as possible for her. It was her special day... I asked if they could please check the booking system again. I was then told that I was taking up their time and that it would take even longer for them to get around to doing our nails because of the time being spent checking for our booking. I completely understand that mistakes with bookings can happen. What I don’t understand is the way we were spoken to when I was simply trying to establish what had happened to an appointment I had made a month in advance. What was supposed to be a lovely first experience for my granddaughter on her birthday instead became uncomfortable and upsetting. I was so disappointed with how the situation was handled. We ended up leaving and I booked her in for a simple polish somewhere else as we didn't have time for the full acrylics anymore.”

“I always have the best experience at The Nail City. I have been a regular customer for a while and the services they provide are great. When I get acrylics, they are always very thorough and provide the exact design that i requested. This was my first time getting a pedicure and I am so pleased with the service and the result. My technician was amazing and was consistently checking I was okay with the water temperature and was thorough with the massage and the nails themselves. Great experiences and will continue to come here!”
