“I have hEDs (hypermobile Ehlers Danlos Syndrome). I have been fighting for help through the NHS for a long time and getting nowhere. Meanwhile my condition is worsening. The pain and fatigue I now feel is excruciating and overwhelming. I finally got an appointment at the pain clinic after over a year on the waitlist. I expected to be given a tailored plan based on my personal health but instead, I was told to come off of all pain medication as it doesn’t do anything for complex chronic pain. I asked if I will be referred to a chiropractor or osteopath but was told that the NHS no longer refer to these services as they have no evidence of it having long term benefits. I asked what am I supposed to do then and was advised to “adopt a holistic approach”. I already do the most and educate myself in my condition and yet this was a massive blow. I came home and cried. I felt so defeated by my condition. I called my parents who advised me not to wait and to go to a chiropractor the same day. I have past Norwich Spinal so many times and decided to book in for a consultation. I was seen by Wen who was both very sympathetic to my situation and very knowledgeable about my condition. Honestly, after all the fighting I have to do for my hEDs, to be immediately recognised and understood was the best feeling in the world. I didn’t have to educate anyone in my condition for the first time in forever. Wen was able to immediately identify my problematic areas without me even needing to utter the smallest “ouch”. This has been the first time in my hEDs battle where I didn’t have to explain anything. Following on from my initial consultation, I was booked into a further consultation because of my condition. I was given x-rays and a person-centred plan for treatment. I was referred to Neil who is extremely knowledgeable, friendly and knows exactly how to help my pain. My journey with Norwich Spinal Health started on 29th April 2026 and I am so grateful for that day. Being let down by NHS led me to discover an amazing chiropractic practice that are able to relieve years of agony in a simple 15 minute appointment. The treatment I receive from Neil is invaluable. It has provided me a new lease of life. It allows me to enjoy my life, spend time with my daughter and get back to hobbies that I have lost over years of increasing pain and decreasing mobility. How can the NHS possibly say that isn’t “long term benefit”?! Even the reception staff are wonderful and kind. You are not just a number to them and it shows. Thank you Neil and team, you have given me my life back.”

“I recently had an intense sciatica flare up possibly caused by a herniated disc in my lower back. Very scary as I had never experienced pain or immobility like this before. My GP had given me painkillers but nothing else and I was on crutches. I was recommended Neil at The Spinal Clinic by my neighbour and what a difference he has made in 9 weeks. I am walking again! Neil and the clinic gave me confidence and the hope and belief that things would improve and that this was a temporary setback. The Clinic has a holistic approach to treatment and tailored my programme to me, starting with twice a week, and now moving to monthly. The Clinic also offers deep tissue massages which I will have in between to relieve the residue muscle tension that I have. Overall, everyone is very welcoming, reassuring and helpful.
