“I had an appointment booked recently and received multiple confirmation and reminder messages. These messages made it clear that my booking was confirmed, yet neither the booking process nor the confirmations mentioned a need to check in. When I arrived at the medical centre, the reception desk was empty, which is understandable if staff were working in the office. No signs indicated that I should check in upon arrival, so I waited until 10 a.m., my appointment time. At reception, the staff member said I had missed my appointment because it was two or three minutes past the time. She argued that signs on the wall required check-in, but I saw nothing of the sort. I request improved services and suggest adding a note to the confirmation message that patients must check in on the screens provided in the medical centre. Thanks”

“Cannot fault this GP practice. Lovely reception team, great clinicians. Can’t say I’ve ever been left waiting on hold for too long and thankfully I do not share the same struggles as most of the country in getting appointments. Side note: As an ex-GP receptionist and now nurse, If the receptionist asks you what your appointment is for, it’s not to be difficult, it’s because many things that people think they need a DOCTOR for is in fact well within the scope of practice of a nurse/nurse practitioner/ pharmacist and you could have had your issue dealt with 2 weeks ago; while saving the doctors appointments for people who really need them. Thank you all, from a very grateful patient.”
