“Avoid this company. I had new windows and a front door. I recently cleaned gutters and windows and merely touched one of the exterior trickle vents on a 1st floor bedroom window and it fell off. They are designed to be screwed into the window frame 2 screws 1 each end. Transpired mine were glued on so were always likely to fall off. The glue might last longer than the 10yr warranty. I called them and provided photo evidence. They hid behind the warranty (2 yrs outside of) and when i asked them under what circumstances they might choose to glue them requesting supportive installation documentation they refused to answer my fair and reasonable questions. Avoid like the plague a bunch of cowboys who are happy to pull the wool over your eyes. I paid them to do the job properly and put simply they didnt keep their promises. As far as i'm concerned they are in breach of contract. If you have had windows installed and 10 yrs hasnt yet elapsed check your vents, remove the screw caps and check to see if a screw is in place. If they arent take a photo and call them. How many installations they've bodged who knows. COWBOYS BEST AVOIDED!”

Despite multiple explicit requests to be removed from their database—and a formal report lodged against them—the phone calls keep coming. Cold-calling homeowners with bogus "government-backed" or "pre-selected" schemes is a predatory tactic designed to exploit vulnerable consumers by hiding behind a false cloak of official authority. Ignoring GDPR "Right to Object" requests and the Telephone Preference Service (TPS) isn't just bad business ethics; it is regulatory non-compliance. Companies that operate this way rely on wearing people down until they give up. I have not given up; I have reported them. The Funny Part: Because If You Don't Laugh, You'll Scream If you ever wanted to study the resilience of a cockroach after a nuclear apocalypse, just look at the sales pipeline of First Home Improvements. You could change your name, move to a remote island, throw your phone into the sea, and a representative named "Dave" would still somehow manage to ring you up to ask if you've considered upgrading your double glazing. According to them, I have been uniquely pre-selected by the government for a miraculous home improvement grant. Apparently, somewhere in Whitehall, a high-ranking official spilled tea over a spreadsheet, looked at my postcode, and whispered: "Yes. This random stranger needs a new composite front door, and they need it now." It’s genuinely impressive. In an era where AI can write poetry and land rovers on Mars, First Home Improvements is still running technology that treats a "Do Not Call" request like a fun little challenge. Customer Service: They hear "Please take me off your list," but their brains translate it to, "Call back in 48 hours, but use a slightly different local-looking phone number so they answer it." Product Quality: I wouldn't know. Even if they offered to wrap my entire house in solid gold double glazing for free, I wouldn't let them on the property. Out of pure, unadulterated principle, I would rather live inside a damp tent made of old Asda carrier bags than give these people a single penny of my business. Final Verdict If you love your phone ringing at 6:00 PM with automated optimism about how your roof is about to cave in unless you buy a new conservatory, these are your people. If you prefer basic respect, adherence to the law, and companies that understand what the word "No" means—look literally anywhere else.”
