“**A wonderful wedding experience and a fantastic three-night stay!** Our youngest son and his partner held their wedding ceremony and reception at The Georgian Townhouse a week last Wednesday, and we couldn't have wished for a more wonderful setting for their special day. We stayed for two nights, arriving on the Tuesday, in the Colonel's Retreat, one of the hotel's apartments just across the road. The accommodation was fantastic, with two lovely double bedrooms downstairs and a spacious living room upstairs. The layout was perfect for our family, particularly on the morning of the wedding, when the ladies were able to have their hair and makeup done together before the big event. Throughout our stay, the hotel staff were incredibly helpful and attentive, always on hand when needed but never intrusive. We enjoyed a family meal in the conservatory on the Tuesday evening. Whilst this was perhaps the one part of our stay that could have been a little better, there were almost 20 of us, many ordering different dishes, so we appreciate that this must have put considerable pressure on the kitchen. The breakfasts, however, were absolutely amazing! There was a fantastic choice, from freshly cooked breakfasts to pastries, toast and everything in between. We all thoroughly enjoyed them. The room used for the wedding ceremony was beautiful and provided a lovely setting for the occasion. It was then transformed for the wedding breakfast and speeches, and everything ran seamlessly. The staff were attentive throughout, ensuring that everyone was looked after and that the happy couple could simply relax and enjoy their day. **A very special mention must go to Cal**, who looked after us exceptionally well throughout the celebrations. Nothing seemed too much trouble, and it was the little things that really made his service stand out. At breakfast, he was absolutely wonderful with our two grandchildren, aged five and seven. Rather than simply taking their orders, he knelt down to speak to them at eye level, treating them with the same courtesy and attention as the adults. He even complimented our youngest granddaughter on her choice of hash browns and beans for breakfast! It was such a simple gesture, but one that really impressed us and showed how naturally he makes everyone feel welcome, regardless of their age. We were also particularly impressed to see Cal there again at breakfast on the morning we left, despite having been on duty until the wedding celebrations finished very late the previous night. His dedication, professionalism and genuine warmth really stood out. Overall, we had a fantastic three-night stay and a truly memorable wedding celebration. The Georgian Townhouse provided a wonderful setting for such an important family occasion, and we would like to thank Cal and the entire team for helping to make the day so special. We would certainly recommend The Georgian Townhouse to anyone considering it for a wedding or a stay in Norwich.”

“We booked this as our wedding venue 2 years in advance. There were multiple wedding coordinator changes during this time and with lots of stuff going on in the background, I was becoming nervous. When we were notified of the second change I requested a call from the venue, Kris called me and introduced himself as the general manager, immediately put my mind at ease and spoke with Bernie to arrange a teams call for us to discuss our plans. The team’s call was excellent and I felt much calmer. When the day arrived, the service was outstanding. Bernie and Kris checked in on me in the morning and spoke with my husband too. Made sure we had eaten and had plenty to drink. The hotel itself was beautifully clean and great service from all staff. And then, Cal arrived. Cal is one of the most amazing people we have met during this wedding process, he was so positive and so determined to give us the best day ever. And my god, he did indeed deliver the best day ever!! Cal made sure everything ran smoothly, was super impressed with my wedding binder so extra points here, gave us drinks straight after the ceremony and much more. Cal went above and beyond in every aspect of the day including breakfast the day after. His passion for the work he does shone through and we couldn’t be more grateful to have him with us during the most amazing day of our lives. My husband and I feel so so lucky to have had such an incredible team of people by ours sides, on our side, supporting us every step of the way. So if you’re considering booking this is your wedding venue, DO IT!!! Ps the food is also so so good and we had so much feedback from our guests about the great service they received before and after the wedding from the venue too. We couldn’t thank you all enough. Lots of love Emily and Mikel (The Hollands) Cal you are an absolute legend xx”

“This is my third stay at this hotel, this time for five nights. Joao Mariano on reception was very helpful and resolved any queries I had, which I found reassuring as a solo traveller. The restaurant/bar area has a good atmosphere. My pork belly roast dinner on Sunday was very tasty and I had attentive service.”
