Elsie’s Pizza has a new weekly home at the Pear Tree Inn on Unthank Road, with wood-fired pizzas served every Friday from 5pm.

The pub has announced the collaboration, giving the Norwich catering business a regular Golden Triangle pitch alongside its work at weddings, parties and festivals.

For owner Chris Holmes, the location has a personal connection. He grew up on Unthank Road and lived there until he was about 22.

The neighbourhood stop brings him back to a familiar street with the business he named after his daughter.

A family business comes back to Unthank Road

Elsie’s Pizza says it was founded in 2016, inspired by Elsie’s enthusiasm for pizza. Its catering operation uses wood-fired ovens and includes a converted vintage Rice horsebox.

The Friday arrangement gives the Norwich family business a recurring neighbourhood stop alongside its event catering.

When to find it

The Pear Tree Inn’s announcement gives the serving time as every Friday from 5pm. Check the pub’s latest announcement before travelling, as arrangements may change.

That is the pizza start time rather than a confirmed finishing time. A menu and prices for this particular pub service were not established in the available announcements.

For current service updates, readers can check the pub’s announcement and Elsie’s Pizza’s own channels before heading over.
