“Ciscoes sent me an email asking me to review them on Tripadvisor, I thought good idea but I’ll use Goggle instead as it’s more accessible. I booked a table for two for lunch. We were greeted on arrival by the waitress who was friendly and all through our visit. We placed our order for drinks then food. The drinks arrived fairly quickly, however the wait of nearly 30 minutes for the starters to arrive, I appreciate food was cooked fresh but the activity or inactivity from the kitchen was noticeable, we were the first customers and the restaurant was filling up. I’d would have expected as soon as an order landed in the kitchen they would’ve been on it and started ‘cheffing’ . When the starters did arrive they were both quite tasteless. The same for the main course that followed. We both felt that the service was slow and the food bland, disappointing for a fine dining restaurant and quite high prices. We left feeling disappointed, having expected something better. I am no expert on Japanese cuisine, however I’ve had enough food at other venues to know how it tastes. My verdict if you’re thinking of booking here there’s another venue literally a few yards that is, in my opinion far better. ( Ichiban ) Finally on a safety matter, the restaurant considers it safe to open a restaurant when the smoke detector nearest the kitchen is missing and the wires are hanging from the ceiling. I shall not be returning with no doubt I wouldn’t be welcomed.”
