While many venues became loud, repetitive, and dominated by scenes that made ordinary people uncomfortable, we set out to create a stylish, safe, and welcoming space where respect is at the heart of everything. Built against the odds — with limited resources, years of obstruction, and much of the venue shaped by hand — The Aslan came to life with the support of friends, family, council officers, the EDP, and a wide section of the public.
